Rainford Buildings is a family-run builder in Rainford, St Helens, doing garage conversions, garden rooms, knock throughs and renovations across Merseyside. Its website sat on GoDaddy’s website builder, with email on GoDaddy’s version of Microsoft 365.
The problem
- Slow, rigid pages. The builder’s pages were heavy and hard to structure for search, and the blog lived at awkward addresses Google had already indexed.
- A broken page in the sitemap. The FAQ page listed for Google returned “page not found”.
- Prices hidden in a blog post. The business publishes real job prices, a strong selling point, but they were buried.
- Email deliverability risk. The domain’s sender record didn’t approve Microsoft 365, so outgoing emails could land in spam.
- Paying for things it didn’t need. Website builder subscription, add-ons and renewals stacking up.
What we did
- Rebuilt the site as a fast static site, with one clear page per service and per area, and real project photos throughout.
- Kept every page address. Every main page kept its exact address. All 23 blog posts moved to clean addresses with permanent redirects from the old ones, so rankings carry over.
- Put the prices up front. A price board on the home page shows what local homeowners actually paid.
- Added structured data so Google understands the business, its services, its projects and its FAQs.
- Made tracking compliant. Google Ads and Meta tracking now load only after a visitor accepts cookies, as UK rules require.
- Moved DNS with zero email downtime. We copied and checked every DNS record before switching, then confirmed email was still delivered.
- Fixed the email sender record so Microsoft 365 mail passes checks.
- Gave the owner an editor to add projects, swap photos and change prices himself, with no code.
The result
A faster, cleaner site on free hosting, with every existing Google ranking protected, email that never dropped, and a business owner who can update his own site in a couple of minutes.
